Personal Development: How Much Do You Need to Grow Your Business?

When I first started my business, I thought I could do it all by myself. I mean I had built a previous business that was successful and I had climbed the Corporate Ladder in 3 years. BIG Mistake and it cost me at least two years of serving the world with my Incredible Factor.

You may be just like me; you’re thinking you don’t need any help to grow your business. You think you can do it on your own.

How’s that working for you?

Fortunately, I realized that I couldn’t coach myself and even though I knew how to help others, I couldn’t be as effective for myself. So I did it. I bit the bullet and started focusing on my personal development and more importantly I invested in myself.

The result – it was the best thing ever and it also unclogged the drain of income into my business. And you know the rest of the story. I am blessed to be able to help tons of clients from around the world unleash their Incredible Factors. I am so grateful.

You see the truth is that based on the Law of Circulation, a universal law, it’s hard to get abundance if you’re not offering abundance to others. And when you don’t invest in yourself, you stop the flow of abundance into your life.

After you watch this week’s episode, perhaps you’ll bite the bullet too:

This week on Incredible Factor TV, I’m answering Adrienne’s question:

“What kind of personal development do you recommend…in terms of frequency? How should that be worked into a business schedule? There are so many teleseminars and conferences for things that I want to learn. But I don’t want my schedule (or budget) to be overrun with conference calls and conferences and working with mentors.”

Watch this week’s episode to hear my response here:

Like I said on the show, today, I invest at least 10% of my income goal in personal development.

Yup. 10%

So do the math.

How much do you want to earn in 2013? Compute what 10% of that is. Take a deep breath and begin to create your personal development plan.

And to make your job easier, in 2011, I wrote a blog post all about creating a personal development plan. Check it out here.

And if you’re curious about what characteristics you should consider regarding your next business coach or business mentor, I wrote a piece about that too. Read it here.

Either way, thanks to Adrienne’s question this week, you should have everything you need to get your personal development plan underway.

Thanks Adrienne!
